Anyway, one thing I don't like is it makes Baltan to be a good guy, just misunderstood. I don't want Baltan to be reformed. He is like an icon, a classic bad guy. Just make a new monster instead if they need a good guy monster so much. Seriously, the Baltan in this movie is not really Baltan, IMHO. It only shares the same name and appearance with the original.
Cosmos isn't in this movie as much as I thought, but then no one else seems to have much screen time either, even Musashi (who is still in fifth grade at the time this movie is set). To be honest, I don't really know how I feel about this movie. There are parts I enjoy (overall, the movie is rather cute and I always like the baby Baltan), and there are parts I don't care for (go away, the shark military guys!). As an background filler, it's doing its job, but I don't really feel I was missing anything when I watched the TV series before this one.
(Re-read posts and it seems I made it sound like I first watched Cosmos at the time I wrote posts about it. Not so. I'd seen Cosmos once four years ago, not long after I was obsessed with Tiga and impatiently waiting for the DVDs to come out.)
